Leadership is a critical skill set for anyone looking to make an impact or drive sustainable development. Study theoretical leadership concepts and earn a certificate demonstrating your mastery.
Develop your own leadership style and learn how to set objectives a team can reliably achieve, give effective feedback and manage conflict successfully. You will delve into the stages of team development and the roles and responsibilities of a team leader. You will also learn about the responsibilities of a team leader and find out how to define risk and conduct a risk assessment.
This course is included in the program fee of all our internship abroad programs.

In this course, which is offered in partnership with Richmond University, you’ll reflect on the behaviours displayed by effective team leaders. You’ll identify your own leadership style and learn strategies for resilience. Learn to use Belbin’s theoretical model of team roles to understand and bring out the best in your team.
Find out what stage of a team’s development is at using Tuckman’s stages. You then go on to learn how to set Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Timely (SMART) objectives for a team. Next, you’ll learn how to give feedback effectively and manage conflict in a team.
You’ll also learn about the responsibilities of a team leader on this online course. Find out how to define risk and conduct a risk assessment and learn about the importance of providing support for your team. The course explores caring for your team as well as self-care for leaders.
